I promptly emailed him back....saying that I appreciate how hard this is
for him and all involved and that I don't envy his job. I know that every choice thy make will have negatives.
That said, I know personally as a teacher (and most others I would imagine) with students in different grades at different schools, this would likely mean one of my children will be home every day. This is no different than having them both home every day. And as a teacher I am likely to have to take many many days off due to not having someone to watch my kids. So I hope there is a lot of grace given as well as a HUGE supply of substitute teachers.
I get what he's saying about planning for 100% online at some point. I think many colleges are planning for just that. Starting early to try to get the semester in before "the next wave".
All that said, I don't like this plan.
